Maharaja Agresen was first king who baned sacrificing animal in YAGA. He propagated concept of AHINSA or NONVIOLENCE thousands year before Lord Buddha and Lord Mahiveer Swami.
MAHARISHI GARG took a committement from King Agresen| to conduct 18 YAGA under the supervision of 18 Rishi Muni by his 18 sons. 17 YAGA were performed as were traditions, During eighteenth YAGA when one hoarse was brought for sacrifice ,poor hoarse was in tears and trumbling; sensing his killing in YAGA. Agresen saw pathetic Horse trembling touched the heart of Agresen. Hearing the call of his inner Conscience, Maharaja Agresen proclaimed that from this moment onwards no animal will be sacrificed on any Occasion or YAGA., Thus he became first king who totally banned killing or sacrificing ANMALS. It is being said that Agresen ruled for 108 yers, thereafter he made his eldest son VIBHU king to successes him and Aagresen went for TAPASYA in forest.
Agresen’s pedigree is known as AGARWAL. Agarwal’s have 18 GOTRAS ( Subcast). Name of tesese Gotra are not in the name of his sons. Name of Gotras are derived from the name of 18 MEHRISHI-MUNI, who had conducted the YAGA. First Gotra is after the name of MAHARISHI GARG who supervises the First YAGA and so on. 18 Gotra of Agarwal are as follows—Garg,Tayal,Kuchhal,Goyan,Bhandel,Mangal,Mittal,Bansal,Bindal, Counsal,Nagal, Singhal, Goyal,Tingal,Jindal,Dharan, Madhukul and Airen.
Maharaja Agresen and Maharani Madhivee kept their large family united and taught their children the importance of human values, mutual trust, coexistence, tolerance and respect to one another and also to everyone else. In this sence King Agresen can be called MANAGEMENT MAHAGURU. Populations of Agarwals in India is approximately 8 crore. We will be celebrating AGRESEN JAYNTI on 21 September 2017.
