16th March, 2018
Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) today organised a National Conference on Skill Development with a theme of ‘Skilling for Better India’ in partnership of industries and academia experts. This two days national conference has strategic sessions on Role of Skills Universities, Leveraging Government Policies and Industry Academia – Interactions.
Addressing to the students, industry experts and academia, Dr. (Brig.) SS Pabla said, “We are delighted to host the first National Conference on Skill Development at BSDU campus. Skill India requires a modern concept of Swiss Duel System of Education which is initiated by our founder Dr. RK Joshi at BSDU. Today, India has high unemployment in the country, which needs to be addressed from the grass root level by availing practical exposure to the youth. Dual system of education where one-student-one-machinery plays a vital role in the career graph of the students.”
Mrs. Ursula Joshi, Founder of Joshi Foundation said, “Our aim is to bring revolution in the Skill India initiative by infusing the best of the learning experience to nurture the talent and make them ‘job-ready’ resource for the Industry. Its Dr. Joshi’s dream to bring the modern skills in India.”
Lt. Gen. Dr. SP Kochhar, CEO of Telecom Sector Skill Council said, “Industry, Academia, Government and Students are the four key pillars of Skill India dream. Industry needs the best of the skilled human resource but do not want to pay them at par. On the other side, Students enters into whatever comes first in their way and starts doing jobs whether they possess the skills or not. Government is also making favorable policies to create bridge between the demand of industry and available talent pool, but again this has some limitations. Academia plays a vital role as they are the once who gives exposure to the subject and practical applications. If these four pillars will come together and work hand-in-hand, wonders will be seen and the dream of Skill India will surely be achieved on fast pace.”
On the inaugural session today, the dais dignitaries remained present were Mrs. Ursula Joshi, the Founder of RUJ Group and BSDU; Lt. Gen. Dr. SP Kochhar, CEO of Telecom Sector Skill Council; Dr. (Brig.) SS Pabla, VC of Bhartiya Skill Development University, Prof. Kumkum Garg, BSDU; Dr. GMJ Bhat, Registrar, BSDU; Col.
