Rev Chandwani – Left this abode on 29th Jan-2015
About 3 weeks back I received an envelope which had some translations In English, which Chandwani Saheb had done from my Sindhi Poetry “Sindh Ji aaon Jaayi aahiyaan”
The first poem was Life is a Dream/ the second Being-Maut ji Chaaya. Just a few days back I edited and faired out the poems to be published as a series in AJMERNAMA, but I was late. Life never gives us a second chance…! I called on his number on 10th Feb….but sadly enough his kith told me the news……”Yesterday was the twelth day”.
How life slips away silently ?……..of course it knocks but may be we are not silent listeners. In the never -ending chores of life, in the hustle and bustle we tend to shut ourselves from the enlightening source….!
This is the Real fact pertaining to YOU, ME and ALL on this planet Earth. Now when writing the WRITTEN, I wonder why he chose these poems relating to LIFE & DEATH?

ज़िंदगी हिकु सपनो
ज़िंदगी
हिकु वड़ो सपनो
जंहिं में, नित नवां अरमान सजाए
नवां पई जणु वेस मटाए
रोज़ करे सिंगारु
नित नित वेठी पूर पचाए
कडहिं उहाई बारु
कडहिं बुढो थी
कडहिं नशे में भरियल जवानी
पोइ बि वक़्त हले थो
हर्गिज़ कीन थो रुकजे
खुमारु बणजी जो चढिह्यो थे
नशो चूर चूर थी उहो लहे थो
हा हा नशो !
छो त ज़िंदगी बि
शीशे जियाँ चकनाचूर थींदी आ
जडहिं नशो लहंदो आ
जडहिं नशो टुटंडो आ !

मौत जी कारी छाया
हयातीय जे सफर में
पाच्छो थी साणु-साणु मुहिंजे
पई रुलन्दी आहे,
तेसीं
जेसीं
सिजु चढिहियल आहे
लहण ते
जीवन सां नातो तोड़े
ग़रूब थी वेंदो आहे !

Life
A deep dream
Weaves ever new hopes
Adorns itself with new garments
With ongoing wishes
At times a child, at times old
At times youthful intoxication
Time still moves on
Never stops the inebriety
Happy is he who is in toxin
Till it
Shatters down to fall apart
Ha ! Ha! Ha! Dreams !
For life also shatters like a glass
When ebriety ends
When dream is bygone.

Shadow of Death
Dark canopy of death
In life’s journey
Moves with me as a shadow
Until
The sun shines
On sunset it vanishes
Breaking all the Bondages of Life.
