Jaipur-Bhiwadi, The Shriram Corporate Kabaddi Cup 2015 eagerly awaited by various companies of Bhiwadi region, was inaugurated today by Mr Devendra Mishra, Executive Director of the Shriram Pistons. Nine companies from the region put up a fight to enter the race for this coveted Cup. Kabaddi is a game of passion, power and acumen, and all of these were witnessed on the first day of play today. The participating teams include – Autofit, JBM, Continental Engines ltd, Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd, Amtek, Hi-Tech Gears, Sona Steering, HVCC (Visteon) and Delhpi.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr Devendra Mishra, said, Kabaddi is a sport, which originated in ancient India. We took this opportunity to bring this game to the forefront by organising the Shriram corporate Kabaddi Cup. While, nine companies have sent their teams to participate in the first year of the Cup, we are certain that more companies will join the tournament in the next few years. It has given us another opportunity to bring companies in the region on a common platform.”
Five qualifying matches between the participating teams are being played today for deciding the semi final set up. The two Semi Final matches will be played tomorrow and the Final Match on 24th April, 2015.
The tournament was conceptualised with the goal to foster a healthy and positive relationship amongst corporates and to bring them together to work for the development of the Society. Shriram Pistons and Rings Ltd. has provided the logistics for the event in organizing the opening ceremony, arranging outfits to participants of all companies and refreshments for the teams and will to do so for the remaining matches and for the closing ceremony. The company will also provide all the prizes and medals for the tournament.
