Prasad Jawade, a phenomenal actor who has often proved his acting finesse in the Marathi television and film industry is all set to now make his Hindi television debut with &TV’s its powerful socio-drama titled Ek Mahanayak – Dr. B.R Ambedkar. For the first time, he will be seen in a completely new avatar portraying the powerful character of Babasaheb himself.
Passionate about pursuing acting, Prasad began his journey as a theatre actor in his hometown, Pune where he performed several plays with the troupe. He took up dramatics and joined the theatre groups after completing his school. During inter-college competitions, he met his mentor, Mr. Yogesh Soman. He studied theatre under his guidance for almost 4 years and participated in several plays. It was he who pushed Prasad to pursue acting full time and take up television shows and movies.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was known as a world-class lawyer, a great political leader and chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He was a prolific student with doctorates in economics from both Columbia University and the London School of Economics. He gained a reputation as a scholar for his research in law, economics, and political science. Being an outstanding legal and constitutional expert, Dr. Ambedkar was entrusted with the role of drafting the constitution of India.
To prep himself completely for the character of Babasaheb, Prasad is leaving no stone unturned. Inspired by Dr. Ambedkar’s pursuit of knowledge, the actor has decided to enroll himself to attend formal lectures at the Law School in Pune to cultivate his knowledge on the subject.
Elaborating further on it, Prasad Jawade said, “Dr. Ambedkar, undoubtedly was one of the finest and most well-read leaders of our times. Portraying such a great personality is not an easy task after all! His pursuit of knowledge has greatly inspired me to take up law. Besides, the law as a subject is quite comprehensive, and to understand it deeper, I will be attending formal lectures. It is completely impossible to grasp and match up to the intellectual capacity of Babasaheb but if I can get even an inch closer to it, I think it will be a great deal for me.”
&TV’s upcoming show ‘Ek Mahanayak – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’ is a never-told-before life story of Babasaheb in the Hindi GEC space. Produced by Smruti Shinde’s SOBO Films, the show is an inspirational story of Babasaheb and his journey from the tender age of five, to him becoming the prime architect of the Indian constitution.
