On the occasion of International Women’s Day, India Exim Bank organized a webinar today titled ‘Empowering Women Entrepreneurs’ to celebrate women who are bringing sustainable and transformational changes in businesses, especially at the grassroots level.
In the webinar, female leaders highlighted how they are building the world of tomorrow, by contributing through their work, to communities and economy.
Ms. Harsha Bangari, Deputy Managing Director, India Exim bank said, ” As compared to men, about 1.8 times more women became unemployed due to the pandemic. During March-April 2020, more than 15 lakh women in the country were left unemployed,” she said while adding that India EXIM Bank, through its many initiatives has empowered many women entrepreneurs in the country.
The Chief Guest of this webinar Ms. Shashi Singh, Chairperson, Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs in India spoke on creating global opportunities for women entrepreneurs. She said,”It is important to understand how we can bring women entrepreneurs in the global value chain. Teaching them best practices of the world to ensure they become globally resilient is important. I congratulate India EXIM bank for organizing this webinar for creating a platform where growth opportunities for women can be discussed.”
