The initiative of Sh. Sachin Pilot, the Union Corporate Affairs Minister, to make Ajmer an e-district has borne fruit, with Sh. Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, launching Ajmer and Jodhpur e-Districts today. Sh. Pilot had initiated the project when he was MOS for Communications and IT. This is part of Government of India’s prestigious National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), aimed at creating a citizen-centric environment for Governance. Sh. Pilot said that this will enable delivery of Government services to citizens of Ajmer at their doorstep in a timely and efficient manner. The Project has been implemented at a cost of over Rs. 6 crores in Rajasthan. The services will be provided up to the Panchayat level through the 156 Common Service Centres in the district. Nearly a dozen services will be provided. Launch of e-district places Ajmer ever more firmly on the IT map of the country, said Sh. Pilot.
