Jaipur, One day International Seminar on ” Cultural Heritage Information : Strategic Role of Library and Information Center will be organised by the Institute of Health Management Research, on November 16,2013 at IIHMR Campus,Jaipur.
Organising Secretary and Librarian,IIHMR Mrs Shardha Kalla said here today that the main objective of this seminar is to increase the awareness and understanding that libraries are rich depositories of historically and culturally significant collections,many of which are only available in our respective areas.Thus,building appreciation about our own cultural heritage and be motivated to preserve them and to remind the participants that libraries are synonymous with education which offers countless opportunities that can fuel economic,social and cultural development.
Mrs Kalla added that the seminar will be an eye-opener for the whole LIS fraternity to understand their role and responsibilities in managing the information about heritage and culture of an institute,state and country as a whole.
About 200 delegates from all over India and Thailand from Library and Information centers attached to various organisations, Institutions and Universities are participating in this seminar to understand the importance of Cultural Heritage Information.
