Shriram Pistons defeats Amtek Auto Limited to lift the Shriram Corporate Kabaddi Cup

Deputy SP, Kiran Kang graces the event and provides encouragement to the participants

IMG-20150424-WA0000Bhiwadi: The Shriram Corporate Kabaddi Cup, which reinvigorates an ancient Indian sport came to a thrilling end with Shriram Pistons defeating Amtek Auto Limited in a scintillating match of strength and intelligence alike. Both the teams representing Shriram Pistons and Amtek put their best foot forward and fought hard for this prestigious Cup. The tournament which has been played over the last few days was closely contested by nine teams. The final game was inaugurated by Deputy SP Bhiwadi Mrs Kiran Kang. She shook hands with all the participants and tossed the coin for the game to begin.
In the semi-finals held on the 22nd of April, Shriram Pistons had defeated Hi-Tech Gears Limited by 66-51 in a closely fought match. In the other semi-final, Amtek Auto Limited had defeated Continental Engines Limited in a one sided match. Amtek’s good mix of attackers and defenders helped them with their wins in the tournament, while Shriram Pistons sense of team play and strategy enabled the company to defeat the rest of the teams and enter the finals.
While awarding the Cup to the winning team, Mr Devendra Mishra, Executive Director of the Shriram Pistons, said, “It gives us great pride to be the host of this tournament and revive this ancient sport of Kabaddi. It is perhaps the only sport which can be played simply on a ground without any accessories. The nine companies, which participated in the tournament, are all winners as participation, sportsmanship and team works is the qualities that winners have and we witnessed all these qualities in all the teams over the last few days.”
The nine companies that participated in the rournament include, Autofit, JBM, Continental Engines ltd, Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd, Amtek, Hi-Tech Gears, Sona Steering, HVCC (Visteon) and Delhpi. All the matches were held on the factory campus of Shriram Pistons, Pathredi.
