New Delhi’s former chief minister, Ms. Sheila Dikshit graced the occasion, appreciating the very cause of marathon running – health & fitness
New Delhi, January 27, 2019 – With a mission to inspire people to focus on fitness and live a healthy lifestyle, Born2Run hosted it’s first ever Born2Run Half Marathon today at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. The marathon kickstarted at 6 am tillabout 9 am with the race categories of 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km.A total of 5000runners participated inthe Born2Run Half marathon.
Ms. Sheila Dikshit, former chief minister of New Delhi graced the occasion with her presence at the marathon. Also present were Maan Kaur Singh (Age:102) and Gurdev Singh (Age :80), the mother-son duo. Mann Kaur has hit the headlines by becoming world’s fastest centenarian at American Masters Games in Vancouver in 2017
The vision of Born2Run is to establish a sustainable, community focused pan-India running event, encouraging athletes and amateur runners to lead healthy lifestyles and further improve their personal fitness through running.The key highlights of the event were its excellent route profile with ample hydration points, medical aid, ample parking facility, enough mobile toilets, planned transport facility and breakfast for the participating individuals.
