Bajaj Group andPune Municipal Corporation(PMC) to Conduct Mega Vaccination Drive in Pune City on September27, 2021

27th September 2021: Bajaj Group in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)will conduct a mega vaccination drive from September 27, 2021, in Pune across 187 Covid vaccination centres (CVC) and slum areas. As a part of its continued efforts in helping residents of Pune stay protected against the likely third wave of COVID-19, Bajaj Group companies – Bajaj Finserv Ltd., and Bajaj Auto Ltd., haveprovided1 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine to the Pune Municipal Corporation to conduct this mega drive for the residents of urban areas of Pune.

The inauguration ceremony of thisMega Vaccination held today witnessed presence of Shri Murlidhar Mohol, Mayor, Pune City, Smt. Commenting on the initiativeShri.Ajay Sathe, CSR Head, Bajaj Finservsaid,“The mega vaccination drive organised last month in the rural Pune was a massive success and the drive successfully administered more than 2.5 lakhs doses across the district. Now our target is to assist the authorities in vaccinating the urban population of Pune. It’s our collective responsibility to come forward in ways more than ever before in this fight against COVID-19.”

Shri. Murlidhar Mohol, Mayorof Pune City,commented on the initiative stating, “We would like thank Bajaj Group for providing 1 lakh doses of Covishield, which will be distributed across all 15 wards. This has been a great support to the City.”

Shri. Vikram Kumar,Municipal Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation said, “The initiative aims at administering Covid-19 vaccines to cover more citizens. The support will accelerate the PMC objective to cover 100% of eligible citizen. This is truly a special initiative from Bajaj Groupcompanies under CSR. It will make positive difference to society in order to win the war against COVID-19.”

In Pune City out of 42.10 lacs of Population with 33.30 lacs of eligible beneficiaries, till now Pune city has completed more 42.25 Lacs jabs which covers 29.07 lacs citizens (87%) with 1st Dose and 13.18 lacs beneficiaries (39%) with both doses.

Bajaj Group committed Rs. 300 crore since the start of the pandemic to support the fight against COVID-19. The support was utilised to alleviate the immediate on-ground challenges as well as to build capability and resources. This includes the installation of 12 oxygen plants to provide more than 5,000 LPM of oxygen supply to rural and urban hospitals, along with respiratory support equipment like oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and BiPaps, to help augment their capacity in treating COVID-19 patients. The Group has also donated close to 7 lakh vaccine doses to local authorities in Pune and Aurangabad.

The Group has also worked with the Government, local administration, and a network of more than 200NGO partners, to support various projects to ensure that the desired help and support was extended to those who needed the most including immediate food relief to stranded migrants; upgradation of urban and rural healthcare facilities; provision of key healthcare devices; and livelihood support for returned migrants.
